Eco-terrorists issue annual report of destruction (1/23/2004) Animal and ecological terrorists endanger lives, set back life-saving medical research, and strike fear into the hearts of countless researchers, business people, farmers, sportsmen and more. An ecological terror organization, known by the FBI to be one of the most active domestic terror groups in the country, has again had its acts recorded in a comprehensive report. The Earth Liberation Front (ELF) Press Office has compiled and published the Underground Direct Action Totals for 2003. In the last year, animal and eco-terrorists targeted automobile dealerships, farms, the meat, seafood and fur industries, animal research facilities, military offices, construction sites and more. The report tells that eco-terror groups including ELF, Animal Liberation Front (ALF), Revolutionary Cells - Animal Liberation Brigade and other groups claimed responsibility for 75 illegal terror acts in 2003. Damage totals are estimated to be nearly $60 million! Some terror attacks listed include the following:
In response to these and other terror attacks, the U.S. Sportsmen's Alliance has prepared a draft bill called The Animal and Ecological Terrorism Act. The bill recognizes animal and eco-terrorism as forms of domestic terrorism, increases penalties for persons participating in the politically motivated actions and creates specific penalties for those who aid in these acts of terrorism. It has been circulated to state legislators throughout the nation. For more information about the legislation, contact Rob Sexton at (614) 888-4868 ext. 207 or rsexton@ussportsmen.org.
